Second Day Plan • Ioannina

Second day in Ioannina between Perama, Ligiades and the city center

This second day works when you want one stronger outward arc before returning to the city again. Start with Perama Cave, use Ligiades for coffee and the wide view, keep lunch for Frontzou Politia, then come back down through Anexartisias, Kalari, the castle and Beer Brothers on Garivaldi.

Day 2 in Ioannina

1

Start with Perama Cave in the morning

Perama Cave makes sense as the first move of the second day because it shifts the rhythm away from the lake-island structure of day one without forcing you into a bigger regional loop. It gives the morning one clear geological and visual stop before the city opens again.

2

Move up to Ligiades for coffee and the wide view

After Perama, Ligiades is the right second step because the view does the real work there. This is the coffee stop with the broadest perspective over the lake and city, so it should be treated as a pause with real time in it, not as a drive-by viewpoint.

3

Keep Ligiades light and let the view carry the stop

The point in Ligiades is not to overload the middle of the day too early. Coffee and the unrestricted view are enough to give the morning weight before you come back down for the more complete lunch stop.

4

Use Frontzou Politia for lunch when the meal should feel more complete

Frontzou Politia is the right midday table for this second day because it matches the wider, more panoramic tone of Perama and Ligiades. This is where good food, view and a more polished lunch can carry the center of the day properly.

5

Come back down into Anexartisias and Kalari

After lunch, return to the center and let the walk through Anexartisias and Kalari reset the pace. This is a city-texture block rather than a monument block, which is exactly why it works after the cave, the mountain view and the longer lunch.

6

Fit one more coffee inside the castle

Before evening really starts, a coffee inside the castle gives the second day a quieter inner-city pause. It is also the cleanest way to connect the commercial streets back to the older fabric of Ioannina without making the route feel random.

7

Walk Kalari and Anexartisias again before the beer stop

Once you come out again, use the center streets as the transition into night rather than rushing directly to the final venue. The point is to let the city center breathe a little before the last stop of the day.

8

Finish at Beer Brothers on Garivaldi

Beer Brothers on Garivaldi is the right final stop when the evening should end with a broader beer list rather than one more all-purpose cafe or bar. It works especially well if you want to try several beers, local and non-local, in one clearly defined place.

9

This is the cave-view-center day, not another lake-island repeat

Day two works because it changes the city reading: Perama, Ligiades, Frontzou, the center streets, the castle and a beer stop. That is enough structure on its own, so there is no reason to force the island back into the same day.

Practical notes

Use this when day two should open the city wider

If the first day belongs to the island and the lakeside core, the second day should widen the picture with Perama, Ligiades, a stronger lunch and a more urban evening finish.
